The blog goes on even though nobody responds......

Now there's an interesting picture.  This was one of my last nights in Mexico.  Dan is my good friend on the left side of the photo.... he's 2nd Theology here at Mundelein.... then me, then my good friend Nathan (right) who was just great help for me in Mexico.  They are both great guys and wonderful seminarians.  Dan studies for Green Bay (he is from Osh-Kosh) and Nathan studies for Joliet here in Illinois (from Kankakee).  We went to this great Cantina place which had 2 live mariachi bands each night.  They would dual and what not.  It was a great place with ok food and cheap cervezas.

This picture was taken in Kiev, Ukraine.  That is my friend Karin on the right (pronounced like "car in the garage").  She was wonderful and became a great friend on the trip.  The lady in the middle had this whole vat of strange milled-wine type stuff that we tried.  I enjoyed it - most did not.   I have a few other funny photos with Karin I'll have to include sometime.  If I had her permission, I would put a bit on her life.... she is quite an amazing and inspiring person with many gifts and talents.  One thing, though.... she didn't really take many pictures on the trip.  She had a sketch book and would DRAW everywhere we went.  Also, she ate all of our vegetables at every meal because she is vegetarian .  Pretty hillarious, actually. Honestly, though, she is quite inspiring and just a wonderful person and friend.....

This picture was taken after being awake for about 30 hours.  Personally, I think i look ok..... maybe a little out of it.....  nevermind.  The guy on the left side is Tarasz who was pretty much our tour guide.  He is a great man of God - a former seminarian - and really took good care of our group.  He and I became good friends on this trip.  Many insights from ol' Tarasz.  Ivan is the big guy in the middle.  He is to be married soon, and then Diaconate Ordination, and then Priesthood Ordination.  Ukrainian Catholic --- yes, their Priests can Marry.  His fiance is a wonderful gal named Maria.  Ivan is a great guy as well, and really got our group moving on occasion when we were slow.  This picture was taken on the bus after we got out of customs in the airport.... I had just met these guys and got to know the crazy Ukrainian bus quickly......

Soon I will finally include some deeper thoughts, perhaps on some Theology or something......  who knows.  I am not sure that people really read my blog!

Tomorrow, Archbishop Keleher is on campus teaching a class - and he will join us for Mass at 11:30 and then evening prayer and dinner with our KC KS group.  It will be great to see him.  The only choir I am in now here at the seminary (besides a select schola I have been given permission to put together) is the spanish choir.  We do the music ministry tomorrow..... sweeeeeeeeet.

God bless you!  -Matty

nobody responds?  oh gee thanks matty, i love you too.

but you know, if we're wanting to pass around guilt trips, it could be pointed out that at least i subscribe to your blog... hmmm... wonder why i would point that out...

love the pictures.  the 30-hour-no-sleep one is quite funny.

tell the Archbishop i said hello... sure, he doesn't know who i am yet--but he will soon.

happy Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

I guess you're telling us that the people who do read and respond don't count or what? huh????

Anyway, I like your blog and I do read it and I do pray for you and sometimes when I am awakened in the middle of the night and inspired to pray for people, you're one of them....

Take care and God bless!!!  Barb

Yeah...i'm pretty bad at that whole responding thing.  lo siento.  but your pics are hilarious and it's good to hear about the travels and adventures of the matt-ster so, please, keep on writing.

(I just remembered that you might know the answer to this Q my friend asked me awhile ago-  can a catholic priest do a non-catholic/non-denomenational wedding?)

Thank you so much for your caring and concern. I'm facing a trying time right now, but I will prevail in the end with our Lord's help. Knowing that someone is out here praying for me though they don't even know me is a strength to me and I appreciate it so much.

May the Lord bless you,

Chrissy

boy, accuse people of not reading your blog and they sure do come out of the woodwork.

oh, and your mom reads you blog?  that's so cool.  and she even commented.  i love that.  tell her to get a profile picture, and then she can start posting on her blog, telling all kinds of embarassing stories about her little matty and posting baby pictures.

at least, that's what my moms would do.  happy b-day.
